Dr. Sundar will review your X-rays, assess the affected tooth, and quickly identify the source of your pain. She will explain what is happening and what needs to be done before any treatment begins.
The area is fully numbed so that your emergency appointment is as comfortable as possible. Most patients are relieved to find that the procedure itself causes far less discomfort than the pain that brought them in.
Dr. Sundar carefully removes the infected pulp, drains any abscess present, and thoroughly cleans the root canal system to eliminate the source of infection.
Once the canals are clean, they are filled and sealed to prevent reinfection and stabilize the tooth.
After your emergency root canal is complete, you will follow up with your general dentist for a crown or permanent restoration to fully protect the treated tooth.

If your tooth pain is severe, constant, or accompanied by swelling, fever, or a visible abscess, you should seek specialist care as soon as possible. These are signs of an active infection that requires prompt treatment.
